GCET
The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) was introduced for the first time in the year 2002 for admission to all the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes conducted by the Universities in Gujarat State. GCET was conducted by Saurashtra University till the year 2005, and then onwards the responsibility has been passed on to Gujarat University till the year 2009.

The selection process carries on a three phased approach

  • 1. Written Test (Aptitude): The weightage of this phase is highest and is affirmed as 80% marks of the total scored marks.
  • 2. Group Discussion (GD): The weightage of this phase is limited to 10% marks of the total scored marks.
  • 3. Personal Interview (PI): The weightage of this phase is limited to 10% marks of the total scored marks.


The Written Test generally includes questions on Reading and Comprehension, Language Proficiency, Numerical Ability, Data Analysis, Data Sufficiency, Critical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Psychological Aspects, General Knowledge and General Business Environment.
